Course Content

Module 1:

An Introduction to ‘Working Safely’

  • Why working safely is important

Module 2:

Defining hazard and risk

  • Identify health and safety hazards
  • Assess the level of risk they present
  • Put in place appropriate risk control measures

Module 3:

Identifying common hazards

  • Recognise common health and safety hazards
  • Assess the risk involved
  • Put in place appropriate risk control measures

Module 4:

  • Improving safety performance
  • Recognise the importance of a health and safety management system
  • List the key steps in successful health and safety management

Final Assessment

  •  A test consisting of two parts

Course Duration:

6 to 8 hours total

A maximum period of 6 months is allowed for completion.

Successful completion results in the award of an IOSH Working Safely certificate.
